Old Town Trolley Tours is one of the oldest trolley-style tour operators in Boston. They offer a 1 hour and 50 minute narrated excursion that is provided by knowledgeable and trained staff people. The vehicles resemble trolleys of yesteryear, with brass rails and old fashioned wooden seats. Boston is a historic city, and touring the ancient streets in a picture-windowed trolley is a good way to capture the spirit of the city.

Old Town has the largest fleet of trolley busses and mini-coaches in the city, allowing the most frequent pick up and drop off service. The company offers unlimited boarding, which can be utilized to save money versus taking the subway several times in one day. At the time of this writing, other benefits include: A free full-color guide to Boston, a free pass to the Old State House museum, and a free coupon book for discounts at nearby businesses. They also offer bundling of services at reduced rates, such as purchasing a 2nd day, or Trolley Tour plus Fenway Park tour, Trolley Tour plus New England Aquarium, etc. Please refer to the official web site for any current special offers.

The trolleys follow a route with 17 fixed stops (with many nearby attractions): New England Aquarium & Faneuil Hall Marketplace, North End at Commercial & Fleet Streets, USS Constitution, TD Garden, Old State House, Public Garden & Boston Common, Cheers Boston, Copley Square, Copley Place near Prudential Center, Christian Science Plaza, Fenway Park (no stopping on game days), Kendall Square in Cambridge at MIT, Charles Street back in Boston, and Beacon Hill at Cambridge Street near Otis House, and if you transfer to a Seaport Loop trolley bus, there are stops at South Station near Fort Point Channel, Boston Convention Center, and ICA Boston.

Tickets are available online, and there are also several locations in Boston to buy tickets: Stop #1 near New England Aquarium, Stops #1 or #5 at Faneuil Hall Marketplace (rotunda in Quincy Market building and two other seasonal booths), Stop #6 Boylston & Charles Streets, Stop #9 at Copley Marriott in the lobby next to the down direction escalator, Stop #10 at Prudential Center near Hynes Court (seasonal), and finally Stop #10 at Sheraton Hotel Prudential Center outside the front entrance (seasonal).

Old Town's tour busses are painted orange and green and are easy to spot. They resemble a paint scheme used by the transit authority in Boston from the 1940s to early 1970s.
