Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss broke up at some point. That much is known/believed. The timeline is a bit sketchy, but my theory is that in the midst of the Summer of Receipts/Tiddlebanging, Karlie and Taylor really started to fall apart. They were still somewhat friendly for a time after that summer (summer 2016), but 2017 was when they really started growing apart and moving in different directions. What is unknown is whether there was some massive falling out, a fight, a denouncement or whether they just grew apart naturally and shrug, sh-t happens. Of course, there are Kaylor Truthers who believe that Karlie and Taylor were actually romantically involved at one point too. No one really knows! I don’t have any idea. Jennifer Lawrence doesn’t have any idea either. Despite being friendly enough with Taylor, J-Law took a moment during her TimesTalk discussion to mention that the Kaylor split has been keeping her up at night:

In an otherwise overtly solemn and cerebral interview about her new spy thriller Red Sparrow with the New York Times posted on Friday, the unpredictable actress called out the onetime BFFs.
‘I’d like to know what’s going on with Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift, that’s the honest to God truth,’ Lawrence said. ‘Is nobody else curious? It’s keeping me up at night. What happened?’
As we all know, Taylor is the queen of many things. She is the Queen of the Snakes. She is the Queen of Mean-Girl Blind Item Songs. And she’s the Queen of Petty Grudges. She doesn’t let sh-t go AT ALL. I truly believe she keeps an actual, physical, tangible list of all of the people she hates, all of the people who have pissed her off, all of the people who will get oblique (or not-so-oblique) lyrical shout-outs. So, knowing this about Taylor, what will she do here? One, it’s becoming pretty clear that Karlie is on Tay-Tay’s Sh-t List. Two, I think Jennifer Lawrence’s name just got added to the list too. The first rule of the Team Taymerica Squad is that you never talk about the Team Taymerica Squad without written authorization from the Snake Queen.
